Why did we conduct the survey?
We wanted reliable information on how our food helps support dog health and gather real stories from owners. We will use this information in product development, customer service, and marketing.
The survey was sent to active subscribers in Finland 🇫🇮 and Sweden 🇸🇪 who had been using Alvar's food for at least two months. A total of 577 respondents participated.
Results
The survey results highlighted significant health benefits that our customers noticed after switching to Alvar’s tailored diets. Feedback from owners showed that the effects of the dietary change were visible in various aspects of dog wellbeing, such as improved digestion, skin and coat condition, as well as general energy levels and mood. This reinforces that Alvar’s food has helped many dogs feel better and supports owners in their goal of providing the best possible nutrition for their pets.

Do customers modify their tailored feeding plans?
Some modify their dog’s diet on their own – others seek advice from the Alvar team. The results:
🇫🇮 54% made changes (25% independently, 29% with Alvar's assistance).
🇸🇪 51% made changes (21% independently, 30% with Alvar's assistance).
Key health benefits:
General wellbeing: Owners reported how Alvar improved their dog’s alertness and mood.

- 92.7% of customers reported improvements, with 16.6% experiencing a significant change.
Digestion: Many noticed significant improvements, such as firmer stools and less bloating.
- 94% noticed improved digestion, with 47.8% experiencing a notable change.
- 93.8% reported firmer stools, and 54.6% noticed a significant improvement.

Weight management: Alvar’s light recipes helped with weight control.

- 87.8% reported better weight management, while 12.2% still faced challenges.
Sensitive skin and allergies: The dogs’ skin condition and reduction in itching clearly improved.

- 86.8% noticed relief, and 39.5% saw significant improvement in paw itching.
- 93.5% reported improved skin condition, and 41.9% experienced a large positive change.
Stiff joints:
- 77.8% reported improved mobility, and 17.8% saw significant improvements.
Picky eaters:
- 91.9% noticed that the food tasted better than before, and 37.8% experienced a significant positive change.
